This Bourbon Apple Cider with Dairy-Free Whipped Cream is the cozy cocktail you’ll want to sip all season long. Chilled spiced apple cider gets a splash of smooth bourbon for that perfect fall kick, then it’s topped with a cloud of creamy dairy-free whipped topping. It’s comforting, a little indulgent, and just the right mix of sweet and boozy. Whether you’re hosting a fall gathering, getting ready for the holidays, or craving something festive, this drink feels like autumn in a glass.
Tip: This can also be enjoyed warm! See notes for details.
Ingredients:
1 - 1.5 oz bourbon per cocktail (of your choice)
8 oz apple cider per cocktail (I used Honeycrisp cider but you can also use spiced)
Dairy-free whipped cream (of your choice)
Cinnamon (optional)
Ice (optional)
Directions (on the rocks):
Add bourbon and ice to a glass. Mix it so the bourbon becomes chilled.
Pour in the cold apple cider.
Top with dairy-free whipped cream and cinnamon.
Enjoy!
Directions (Cocktail Shaker, for 2 drinks):
Pour 3 oz of bourbon into the cocktail shaker, 8 oz apple cider, and ice.
Shake for 1 min to chill the beverage.
Pour into glass, topping off with more apple cider to fill.
Top with dairy-free whipped cream and cinnamon.
No need to add ice into the glasses.
Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks:
You can also enjoy this warm! Heat the apple cider in a pot or in the microwave before assembling the cocktails. Do not add ice. Enjoy it in a coffee mug with a cinnamon stick to stir.
If using ice, try to use big cubes so they don't melt too fast and water down the drinks.
I used coconut whipped cream which added a fun flavor to it, but you can use any type of dairy-free whipped cream you prefer.
Try this cocktail with any other type of whiskey.
Try a dash of nutmeg instead of cinnamon on top.
Best enjoyed with a straw.
